Project summary

Many artists from Ukraine have become refugees in Poland due to the ongoing war. In the new environment, it's difficult for them to find their footing and gain recognition. Participation in our festivals and assistance in promoting their art through our channels will help them gain recognition in the market. The project enables Ukrainian artists to perform at music festivals located near their homeland. In the safe spaces of Poland, they can showcase their creativity. Festivals at the crossroads of cultures and nations play a crucial role in building bridges and cultural exchange. However, due to the war, partner festival NIVROKU in Ternopil, Ukraine cannot take place, making participation in Folkowisko the only chance for Ukrainian artists to showcase their talent.

Biography: Gordiy Starukh and Joryj Kłoc are joining forces for a unique collaboration that merges traditional Ukrainian music with contemporary electronic and folk-rock elements. Gordiy Starukh, a reffuge artist in Poland, luthier, and music producer, is known for blending traditional Ukrainian songs with electronic music, popularising the handmade kolisna lira. With over 160 instruments created, he's released two albums and participated in "The Voice" Ukraine. Meanwhile, Joryj Kłoc, a folk-rock band from Lviv, infuses Ukrainian folk with contemporary rock, earning comparisons to "Cossack break-beat" and "Slavic Sepultura." ogether, they merge traditional and modern Ukrainian music, promising an innovative fusion of electronic beats, folk melodies, and rock energy.
