Project summary

This residency looks into the future. It aims to investigate critically the hegemonic production of technological futures, centralising ideas of AI-singularity and smart cities. It operates as an artistic research laboratory and employs AI itself to reach its results. The resident will be mentored by: 1) AI engineer (LTU), 2) urbanist (EST), 3) interdisciplinary publishing and 4) media arts specialists (NL), hence developing both technical and conceptual expertise. The final expressions will include 1) AI-based artwork, 2) workshop, 3) tech-arts pavilion. The pavilion will be co-created with a local community of creatives who will build a cultural programme and architectural elaboration around the artist’s research, broadening the impact and situating the artist’s work in a vibrant milieu.

Biography: Sutanuka Jashu, a versatile artist, designer, and painter, navigates the intersection of art and architecture with boundless passion. Her creations blend generative visions with compelling narratives, inviting viewers on a journey of emotion and imagination. With a background in Animation and Architecture, guided by Odile Decq at the Confluence Institute, Paris, she wields software tools like 3ds Max and Sidefx Houdini as extensions of her artistic expression. With diverse experience in retail, interiors, and exhibitions, she eagerly embraces new challenges, poised to leave a meaningful impact on the world through her transformative artistry.
