Project summary

Hotel Nemesis is an ambitious project for live audiences in Romania. Georgia Tsangaraki joins Buzau International Arts Festival with a stage experience mixing humour, action and love, a contemplation of human life, a crime fiction thriller with elements of cabaret and dramatic comedy, showing the world that we are similar in our differences and humour transcends borders and stereotypes. Hotel Nemesis is a stage experience dedicated to human nature, meant to make us reflect on who we really are in life and relationships. The residency supports Tsangaraki's musical and dance theatre journey. It will allow her to develop her work, connect with local artists, and adapt a show for an international audience for the first time.

Georgia Tsangaraki

Biography: Georgia Tsangaraki is a director, actor, theatre educator, and drama therapist. She teaches voice, acting, and movement using a unique self-created practice based on the Greek Chorus and the importance of working ensemble. The method applies to different educational acting and self-development programmes and is called The Spiral Effect. She is the artistic director of an arts space in Athens, The Farm, where she teaches theatre in nature and runs self-development sessions.
Her primary concern is finding ways to teach people the art of performing in various circumstances and conventions without ever losing their truth and personal involvement in the project. She believes the art of theatre is therapeutic, inspiring and life changing.
