Project summary

‘eMotion Tracking’ is an artistic research project that explores the intersections of psychology, embodiment and gestural expression in musical performance in order to design frameworks in which sound emerges from motion. Within these frameworks, dramatized performances will be developed in collaboration with local artists in the residency programs. The psychological focus of the project is isolation and anxiety in the atomised era of digital society. The residency brings together four international festivals to gain collaborative artworks and support the development of artist Tamer Wajda. The leading festival is Cserje Feszt (HU), and the supporting festival partners are Sansusi (Latvia), Experimance Festival (DE) and Are you free? jazz festival (SK)

Tamer Wajda

Biography: Tamer Wajda is a Budapest based composer, performer and interdisciplinary artist fascinated by gestures and movement. Sometimes even creating spaces where the human body can act as a musical instrument. Artistic research and psychology lie in the core of his interest. He experiments with narrative musical forms inspired by psychosomatics and embodied experiences. Collaborative work is a defining experience for him, having connected with a wide variety of artists from other fields. He has created cooperative artworks and performances with poets, dancers, visual and sound artists, and have written music for intermedia installations, contemporary dance pieces, animated and live-action films.
