Project summary

The NAE collective begins its artistic journey with an issue that surpasses every artistic discipline and the world in which the artists create: the alienation of a contemporary man from nature, inspired by the fact that an average person in today’s world lives without a sense of the broader natural processes on which they depend. NAE ensemble creates a multidisciplinary art form “Nature Amplified” using a co-creative artistic approach of five experimental artists who work in music, visual arts and new media. In partnership with an emerging Festival of New Sound and renowned festivals Music Biennale Zagreb and KotorArt, they aim to broaden the outreach of their artistic visions of amplified nature, as well as the creative potential of this newly formed, experimental collective.

NAE collective

Biography: NAE, (co-founders: Tomislav Oliver, Branimir Norac, Vid Veljak, Filip Merčep, and Boy van Ooijen), is a co-creational art collective. Oliver, a composer, embraces interdisciplinary narratives, exploring heterotopic spaces. Norac, a clarinettist and composer, merges classical and pop-folk influences, while Veljak, a cellist, explores contemporary works and collaborates with orchestras internationally. Merčep, a percussionist, showcases new Croatian compositions and international performances, with a focus on electronic music. Van Ooijen, an electronic artist, works on innovative projects integrating live electronics. Together, they aim to amplify ecological sustainability through experimental soundscapes and visuals, fostering a dynamic dialogue between nature, music and technology.
