Project summary

The OTE - On The Edge project involves crafting two 15-minute performative pieces for accordion, integrating neighbouring performance art practices like dance and theatre. Central to both pieces is the exploration of human interaction with limits: physical, ideological, visual, and auditory. OTE emphasizes the expressive potential of the accordion/accordionist duo in a performative setting, targeting a diverse audience. It also highlights female creativity. The project begins with a reflection on the instrument's nature: a body-linked entity that morphs while producing sound. Envisioned is a dynamic sonic space where the solo musician/performer narrates. Composers M. Kerer (Italy) and A. Sowa (Poland), along with choreographer Angela Demattè (Italy), contribute to this innovative endeavour.
