Project summary

The project aims to support Francisco Thiago Cavalcanti in the process of creating his new performance. “52 BLUE” is the result of long research on migrations, refugees, dreamers, utopians, soundscapes, loneliness, and inadequacy. The starting point for the piece is the artist’s interest in the life of whales compared to his own experience as a person on the autism spectrum. 52 hertz is the frequency of a sound made by a specific whale that lives alone in the ocean; it is so high that no other whales can be around. How to perform this? What does this have to do with loneliness? In this highly imaginative project, Francisco Thiago Cavalcanti incorporates entire landscapes and animal realities: how can human bodies see more, feel more intensely, think differently?
