Project summary

Isabel Costa’s site-specific performance MANIFESTOS PARA DEPOIS DO FIM DO MUNDO offers an immersive artistic encounter treating an issue of increasingly relevance: Seven actors perform excerpts from seven manifestos written after 2000, that formulate analyses of the existing and drafts for a future society. Walking through an empty building small groups of spectators encounter each performer individually. Taken away from common gestures of political activism the manifestos are given voice in an intimate setting between individuals who are invited to let them resonate. The residency aims to explore artistic options to make the project accessible for international audiences of different backgrounds and to intensify the artistic practice by developing the reach of the performance.
