Project summary

Nope Voisard’s artistic career is based not only on his specific interest, studies and professional experience of acousmatic music, but also on the study of spaces. This specific and personal approach is expressed through recordings of the sound world and electro-acoustic re-elaborations of the latter. The composer's artistic work for the EFFEA project therefore begins with a sound analysis of the hosting spaces/cities. In this context, the artist's participation in a collaborative project between 4 festivals represents a perfect combination of sound research, creation and dissemination. Through this project, both Node Voisard and the festivals benefit from new and unique works.

Biography: "As a child I was over the moon. They put devils in my eardrums. One day my father returned home from military service with a ukulele. At Les Planchettes, I spent my time recording with a red Fisher Price tape recorder. I talked a lot. Later, I learnt to play the guitar and to be quiet. You have to start by shutting up to listen. Music became my best means of communication. I played punk rock with friends. Then I started recording. I was fascinated by sound techniques. I left Switzerland for Belgium, where I studied at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion. This is where I naively discovered electroacoustic music with Marie-Jeanne Wyckmans. Studies over. Dull work that lacked creativity. Master’s degree in acoustic composition at Conservatoire de mons."
