Project summary

The residency of the drummer, composer, improviser Alex Lazaro is made for giving the artist the creative space for exploring himself as a solo artist. Lazaro is well known to the music scene world wide as a side man for singer and composer Lucrecia Dalt, but as a solo artist he is still unknown and he is searching for ways to express his musical philosophy in his debut album. In this residency he will focus on his solo project, which will include playing drums, singing and playing electronics, merging composition and improvisation in the realm of songwriting.

Biography: Alex Rodriguez Lazaro (1992) born in La Coruña / Percussionist, vocalist, music producer

I started playing piano at a very young age. I studied Classical Percussion and Jazz.
Currently touring and recording as a percussionist with the Colombian artist Lucrecia Dalt. Since 2022 we’ve played venues and festivals such as: Le Guess Who? (Utrecht, NL) , Unsound Festival (Krakow, PL) Sonar Festival (Barcelona, ES), Pitchfork Festival (Chicago, US) London’s Kings Place (UK), Los Angeles (Zebulon, US) National Sawdust (Brooklyn NY, US).

In the last years I have also collaborated with artists: Fuensanta Méndez, Catia Lanfranchi, Adam Sait, Reiner Baas, Joris Roelefs, Zooey Agro, Fabiola Fernandez, Lena Geue, Rahel Hutter, Petros Tzekos and Pedro Almiro.
