Project summary

Artist Laura Puska will work in the context of the Finnish ANTI Festival, the Latvian Homo Novus Festival, and the Estonian SAAL Biennaal. The project will connect the artist with the three festivals located geographically and chronologically near to each other. Puska will travel from her hometown Ghent by land and perform her work, holding the project name, at ANTI Festival in Kuopio, host a workshop at Homo Novus Festival in Riga and work together with the SAAL Biennaal team in Tallinn. The performance work “URGENT - Residency for Artworks” is a platform to ponder upon the role of the artwork as a performer through shared experience with the human performer. It gives a central stage to an art object and engages audiences in interactions and discussions through its existence.
