Project summary

“A city of hidden faces on top of empty faces. Grotesque social masks, prejudices with faces laughing out loud and among all those mouths that judge and hurt so much, some eyes, a body that is being discovered.” It seeks from the theatre of masks and burlesque to investigate the theme of gender diversity, using styles such as the jester, the choir and satire to feed the collective creation. The project proposes a week of creation and presentation, 5 days of workshops with the Galician LGTBIQ+ communities associated with the project, where Nauta will direct the creation and other artists will intervene to offer specific workshops. The sixth day we will prepare the cabaret and at last we will perform it within the framework of the festival, where a job will be done to spread the word.

Biography: Nauta is a young galician and french company. A group of creators who come from physical theater, music, dance and the worlds of masks and puppetry.
From the desire to deepen, investigate and discover the performing art scene of today, Nauta go to a theater where styles come together to open new spaces. To an art for all kinds of public and without elites. To a meeting point where you can immerse yourself in the extraordinary of art.
