Project summary

Anna Gruver will come to Krakow, the UNESCO City of Literature, during the 13th edition of Miłosz Festival. Her presence during this special edition of the Festival, marking the year of Czesław Miłosz, will be an opportunity for her to participate in this international event that gives a platform to the voices of various literary artists from around the world and to present her works to the festival audience of Polish as well as Ukrainian speakers. Due to her being a translator from Ukrainian into Polish and vice-versa, a special emphasis in the programming of the residency has been put on the questions of the craft and ethics of translation, and the role it has to play in transcultural mediation. Literary translation is a matter crucial to both festivals collaborating on this residency.
