Project summary

In “Between the Lines”, Hadi and Mina link their personal life to the evolution of the Iranian cultural scene, through fragments of public performances they presented in Iranian cities. This documentary narrative is Hadi and Mina's imaginary autobiography, their autofiction. Between cinema and theatre and using objects, images, texts, sounds and actions, they superimpose the country from which they come from with the one they suddently find themselves in, in a journey made with pieces of memories and time.

Mina Bozorgmehr & Hadi Kamali Moghadam – Noir art group

Biography: The ‘Noir art group’ created by Mina Bozorgmehr (performer, architect, writer and film director) and Hadi Kamali Moghadam (performer, film and stage director) based in Teheran since 2008 and in France since 2022, pursues an artistic path in dialogue with the socio-cultural context of its country, through stagings in public space, site specifics performances, as well as cinematographic and documentary experiments.
"How can abandoned spaces and urban amnesia be brought back to life through collective memory and human presence? Are bodies actors that express the desires and distress of a society?" These questions have guided their work over the last fifteen years. By hijacking red lines, they seek to invent modes of expression that escape censorship and create spaces for free speech.
