Project summary

DANCING HEADS is a project of residencies that will have involved INTERPLAY festival with Mosaico Danza as leading partner in Italy, with Potsdamer Tanztage - International Festival For Contemporary Dance with fabrik Potsdam in Germany and Festival Uzès Danse with La Maison CDCN in France, with the scope of providing an early career artist a platform for envisioning new paths and imaginaries in the development of his newest work, by confronting with international operators and programmers and with different choreographic aesthetics and poetics. The three partners, who respectively are in partnership with other structures (Lavanderia a Vapore, Bureau du Théâtre et de la Danse a Berlin and Theatre de Nimes) will host the artist for a series of residencies in France, Germany and Italy.

Jacopo Jenna

Biography: Jacopo Jenna is a choreographer, performer and filmmaker creating stage works, video pieces, and installations. His works reframe the body in relationship with movement, through dance and choreography generating a variety of performative contexts. As a graduate of Sociology, he also studied dance in Codarts (Rotterdam Dance Academy). He creates training and educational programmes for various age groups experimenting with new ways of relating to performance art. In Europe he has worked with dance companies, choreographic research projects and various artists like Jacopo Miliani, Caterina Barbieri, Roberto Fassone, Ramona Caia, Bassam Abou Diab. His projects are produced and supported by spazioK/Kinkaleri. His work participated to festivals and venues including Centrale Fies Dro, Virgilio Sieni, MART Museum Rovereto, Contemporanea Festival Prato, Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes / Young Video Creation, Palazzo Strozzi Firenze, Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art Prato, Fabbrica Europa Firenze, CROSS International performance award, Short Theatre Rome, Danae Festival Milan, Dansem Marseille, Bipod Festival Beirut, Palazzo Grassi Punta della Dogana Venice, Chantiers d’Europe – Théâtre de la Ville Paris, Do Disturb – Palais de Tokyo Paris, Mudam Contemporary Art Museum of Luxembourg, Aerowaves 2022.
