Project summary
Manual of Adaptation to the Planet (M.A.P.) introduces a team of adapters who are engaged in a mission of total reorganisation of human life on Earth. The team prepares the audience to adapt their lifestyles to the future climatic forecast, thanks to a time-acceleration experience covering several generations. Together, they will be creating one page of the Manual of Adaptation to the Planet. The climate forecast in possession of the adapters indicates that the very notion of State will have disappeared by 2040, and that each small community will have to take care of itself, while connected to the others. This participatory performance in public space stimulates collective audience imagination, with the aim of creating, through a game about the future, a dialogue about the present.© Gaspard Kiejman

LUIT - Laboratoire Urbain d’Interventions Temporaires
Biography:
Founded in 2015 in Paris, LUIT - Laboratoire Urbain d’Interventions Temporaires, is a group based on the research and experimentation in the public space. They create both site-specific, participative projects and theatrical performances.
The LUIT works on the renewal of the notion of participation, the collective experimentation with the passers-by. They are working on a method based on the physical observation and the geographical analysis of a chosen space in order to create a contextual fiction that infiltrates reality. The goal is to reach a high level of audience participation, through what they call "street interventions", site-responsive performances that started while observing a specific territory that LUIT has transformed into a template.
