Project summary

The project aims to contribute to the distribution and mobility of the emerging female mural artists from Ukraine through new co-production, co-operation and transnational connections. Artists Yulia Abramova Serhiivna and Roksolana Dudka will come to Iasi, Romania and will collaborate with 4 artists from Europe and 8 local artists to finish the Urban Art Gallery in the area of the Octav Bancila Overpass (the biggest urban art gallery in the region). The artists will be trained in the field of mural painting, as well as prepare, organise and sustain a spray can upcycling workshop for participants of the festival. On the last day of the festival there will be the unveiling of the murals and a tour of the gallery. Finally, the artists will be introduced to 3 other festival organisers from Spain, Croatia and Greece.

Yulia Abramova Serhiivna and Roksolana Dudka

Biography: Yulia Abramova Serhiivna is a multidisciplinary artist, who creates scenography for theatrical performances, installations, sculptures, land art, paintings, graphics. She says, “recently I've started experimenting with murals. My work is dominated by environmental themes, themes of the war, cultural heritage and identity of the nation and other socially important issues”.
Roksolana Dudka is a multidisciplinary artist, Doctor of Philosophy in design, candidate of art history, an associate professor at the Lutsk National Technical University. Winner of the scholarship of the President of Ukraine 2017-2019, winner of the grant of the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine in 2018, member of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine, and also an emerging mural artist
